chat.openai.com is now chatgpt.com!

Well, they’re going all in on chatGPT. First their website redesign and now they bought the domain chatgpt.com. It’s like they’re hell bent on getting chatGPT to the best of the best ( maybe even achieve AGI). [ Do you feel the AGI yet? ]

What this could mean?

Well they have certainly doubled down on the name chatGPT ( even though Sam Altman said he hated the name), it doesn’t look like they’re looking back at all. It’s also interesting to note that all of it is happening just before the rumored release of GPT-5 ( and not gpt2/gpt2-chatbot )

How does this affect me?

Well, in most aspects it does not. But if you use chatGPT heavily you might see some unsual behaviours as domain redirects generally do cause issues. You might be asked to login again or chatGPT might not recognize you. But rest assurred OpenAI will fix it soon ( maybe by the next week)

What’s next for OpenAI?

Project Sonic

OpenAI, apart from GPT-5 and Sora might be working on its own AI search, going after the search giant Google. Rumor has it that OpenAI also bought search.openai.com (project Sonic?) and here’s what it could look like :
